Darwin continues to be focused on our long-term goal of developing a world-class specialty liability insurance organization. The announcement this week by AM Best of Darwin subsidiaries' independent rating is another accomplishment towards this goal. Our two dedicated insurance companies, Darwin National Assurance Company (DNA) and Darwin Select Insurance Company (DSI), have received independent financial strength ratings of "A- (Excellent)." We've just returned from successful and productive meetings at the PLUS International Conference in Boston. I've enjoyed catching up with many of our committed partners, discussing new opportunities with potential producers, and introducing our new technology and information liability product, Tech // 404sm, to a receptive partner community. An article entitled, "Like A Virus," published in this month's Insurance Journal and authored by Drew Bartkiewicz, head of Darwin's technology and information liability underwriting team, frames the growing need for products like Tech // 404.
What's more, Darwin panelist Steffanie Goldsmith was well received at the PLUS presentation entitled, "Are we there yet? On-line Underwriting of Professional Liability." As the director of the (i-bind)sm initiative, our on-line automated rating and quoting system for not-for-profit and private commercial business, Steffanie demonstrated our substantial accomplishment in this area.
We are quite proud of the feedback we received from many of our producers. Our efforts to prove ourselves capable and reliable were evident in these comments. More work needs to be done, but the progress is exciting. All in all, this was an excellent chance to tell the Darwin story and prepare for end of the year business.
